Diet Coke

Laying in bed I start to hear
The sounds of the city coming near
This means the day is beginning
and all of a sudden I just start grinning.

Waking up means just one thing
And makes me almost want to sing,

As I stumble out of bed
I probably look like I’ve just come back from the dead
I make my way down the hall
Still wishing I was just curled up in a little ball
But alas, I make it and its time
To commit what some say is a crime

I smile as I hear the pop then fizzle
i slowly pour and see it sizzle
Cool crisp and refreshing
One small sip - such a blessing
Sip after sip the tingly sensation
Oh my goodness what a creation

With each gulp I come alive
Ready for the day I surely can last till five.
Oh Diet coke how I love you I could cry
You are the most glorious thing in my eye

Now there is just one last thing I must address
How some thinkl diet coke isn’t the bes’
I hear people say there is no difference
And I just laugh at their silly ignorance
They think Pepsi is just as good,
Really? They belong in the hood
These crazy people don’t they understand
Pepsi should be on contraband.
It isn’t good it belongs in the bin
Drinking Pepsi is absolutely a sin.

...  more to come ...

to Chase!

 Dear Chase,
I love your face!
I didn't forget you work for Udot
they just frustrate me ALOT
but now that i understand
about chip crew, tar, gravel and sand
I'll stop my whining
through  silly rhyming
and learn to appreciate
because your just so great!

On Friday, I went with Chase to the DR. to see if his face had healed enough he could play soccer again. After waiting over an hour to see the doctor, I started to make a fuss and whine to the nurses.. I even made up a little song, chase didn't like that so much, he closed the door so the nurses wouldn't hear me.. apparently I'm embarrassing.. HAHA gotta love that..

Anyways, on the way home (of course via the Apple store) we expierenced the joys of UDOT and summer construction.. I started making up a poem about it how i hate udot.. Chase liked it so i told him i'd finish it and dedicate it to him.. So here you go buddy..

Attention UDOT
you suck... ALOT
Every summer with out fail
you turn driving into hell.
Every major road i want to take,
you have a project and what a mess you make!
Piles of dirt, cones and tractors everywhere,
and ugly workers that just like to stare.
Why cant you think and work logically
ahhh UDOT you make us all mad, cant you see?

We wish you'd finish one project before you start another
every road has construction ahhhh oh brother!
The worst is the ornery stop sign man,
he just stands and glares as he drinks his coke out of the can,
I wouldn't mind this little delay
but the this happens everyday!

I hope that one day Udot will make a change,
and actually fix the roads across Wasatch range.
Then we will be able to drive in peace
and all the traffic will decrease!
I'll be able to make appointments on time
oh and that will be oh so sublime!
Now lets all just hope and pray
that UDOT will stop all the delay!

Great Great Great Grandpa's Cabin

This morning I got to visit my great great great grandfathers two-story cabin that is on the national Register of Historic Places in Summerfield Louisiana!

Nancy Wasson arrived in North Louisiana from Alabama in the 1800’s she and her husband, Alberry Wasson, built a home and planted their roots. It took them two years to build their home and completed it around 1850. They grew cotton, ran a saw mill, and owned a craft store  [apparently it runs in the family].

Here is the street sign leading up to the cabin. The street is named after them!

Here is my great great great grandpa’s carriage.  My uncle Tony tried to tell me it's like the Amish buggys, but I quickly corrected him that Ididn't have any Amish blood! [ for those of you that don't know… Amish buggy's creep me out !...they look like the creepy buggy in Beauty in the Beast that takes away Bell's papa.. or a coffin on wheels.. or a jail cell.. anyways..]

Out and about in Savannah

Today I spent the morning in Savannah Georgia. What a beautiful city! I loved all the big trees, old houses and the cobble stone roads by the river.

Life on the road begins..

I just arrived in Atlanta an hour or so ago and thus begins the next two weeks of life on the road.. I love to travel and the adventures that come with traveling and I'm sure over the next few days i will have some exciting stories and pictures to show and tell. BUT before we can do that, we need to catch up on the last few days... Before arriving in Atlanta, i was in Indiana visiting Pete. We had a great time and some awesome adventures, Frisbee golfing, Amish hunting, playin' Settlers  oh and so much more.

a little accident prone..

I thought when i dyed my hair dark it would take away my frequent "blonde" moments.... apparently i was wrong....

My morning started off great when I cut my eyelid on the zipper of my sweatshirt.. ya i didn't know that was possible either but i have cut to prove it! Next when at the gas station i tried to get gas and couldn't get the pump to work, i put my card in, selected the grade, lifted the little nozzle thing, and it wouldn't work, so i hit cancel and tried again, but it still didn't work! At that same moment i saw this little old man walk out of the station to his car in front of me, i quickly went begged him to help me.. turns out i missed pushing the "start" button.. I had a good laugh about that one!!!  Then to wrap up the day i tripped walking up 1 step...yes a single step! My arms full of boxes sprayed across the floor, my knee joined the cement step edge and my face slammed into the concrete.. needless to say i now have a pretty awesome cut and bruise on my knee..

My quilts

One day Alicia and I were hanging out and i got the brilliant idea I wanted to learn how to make a quilt... So Licia and I went to the fabric store and in a short three days I finished my first quilt... I was kinda excited to get it done and send it to Pete.. hahahah... There are lots of flaws and little problems but I love the quilt and it was lots of fun! Then I decided I needed one too! So I've started one for my self!

Anyways... thanks Alicia and Melissa for helping teach me how! Love you gals!

7 days Babe!

Next week i will be taking off to go visit Pete in Indiana.. Pretty excited about a lot of things..

On the list of things to do:

See some corn fields... (long story why this is number 1 thing we have to do)
Go Amish hunting..
Fishing..
Frisbee Golf..
Cuddling..
walks with Ollie..
Spiderman kiss..
scrapbook.. haha..
laugh!

oh and so much more..

Well here goes..

So one day Alicia decided i needed a blog. I like to think this is because i happen to do some pretty crazy things, and get my self into the most unusual situations. Also, i happen to be traveling all over the country by bus for work this summer. So the combination of me + my blondness + accident prone + traveling is bound to be some good stories...

So just to start off, today as i drove to work i decided a quick stop at Roxyberry was a must, i also thought it was a great idea to use my drink as a mic while i was rockin' out in my car. Well... the lid popped off and i ended up with half a 24oz smoothy in my lap. Not knowing what to do, i stopped my car in the middle of the road... yes the middle.. i continued to get out of my car dripping with sweet raspberry goodness dripping off of me while cars rushed by with dirty looks. At this point i began laughing and decided it be best if i return home and change.. being sticky all day, no FUN!
So moral of the story don't ever use your drink as a pretend mic in the car.. you might regret it later...
